helloooo.
so today
was my first day of work
at the rainbow centre.
went there with denise
and met kyra there.
then...
the vice principal gave us a briefing,
and she let is decide which classes we want to volunteer in,
but they were all separate classes.
so none of us worked with each other :/
but anyways,
kyra and denise got the classes with the younger kids like
2 to 6 years old,
i think.
and i got the older kids
like 7 to 11 years old,
who are autistic.
and mine was the swimming one.
but that would be a different class.
but that's only on fridays.
so all of use will be gong to rainbow centre
on wednesdays and fridays,
but we all have different timings.
and we'll be doing this until the end of july.
so.
the class i was with went "shopping"
like grocery shopping,
at the buona vista ntuc.
we took the public bus there.
then each person bought 1 thing,
took the bus back to school.
then they had show and tell,
like they had to show and tell everyone what they bought.
then it was snack time.
the teacher gave me a banana and a packet of ruffles.
then we went to the computer lab for them to do their work.
then they did anything they wanted on the com
after they finished their work.
then they had PE,
which was running up and down
the staircases.
haha.
i would have loved to do that :D
then assembly,
with the national anthem
and flag lowering.
that's all.
so all that was from 2 to 5:15pm.
and on fridays,
i'll have to be there from 4-5pm,
just for the swimming thingy.
that's just a brief summary of what we did.
there were 5 students in the class i was in,
4 boys, 1 girl.
lemme try to memorise their names...
hassannah (idk if that's how you spell it),
vince,
isaac,
jun hoe,
ping en (or some chinese name like that)
yeah. so basically when we were out of the school
like "shopping",
i had to hold isaac's hand.
he's really quiet,
unlike some of the others.
if you talk to him,
sometimes he won't respond.
but there's this other guy,
when he gets stressed out,
he laughs
and
flaps his arms
and makes repetitive random noises.
so when that happens,
the teacher makes him stand in one corner
and let him do all that stuff
until he's ready to go back to work.
thennn...
ohyeah.
it took us a really long time to cross the pedestrian crossing,
coz they had to go in pairs,
and they had to follow the "steps and rules"
i'm too lazy to explain what to do.
but it took everyone 3 green men
to cross to the other side,
so that process was kinda long.
yeahh...
those were the highlights.
sorta.
it was quite fun.
i just realised that i have to worry about one thing
like for the swimming thing...
i think yknow what it is...
yeah.
but nvm.
just hope that i don't get... yknow.
then after that,
went to kyra's house,
ate stuff,
watched when in rome
which was pretty funny,
had dinner,
watched tv,
then my dad picked me up,
then we picked up my bro from tuition,
and went home.
yeahh.
so it was a good experience for me...
yup.
i borrowed a chinese book from my
bro's and sis' chines tutor.
and i didn't get to choose it.
the words are pretty small :/
and i have to finish it in less than 3 weeks.
aww mannn.
i'm rushing all my work now.
what am i gonna do tmr?
read my english book,
do my first chinese book comic thingy,
read my second chinese book,
and i'll TRY not to be on the com as much.
i'll TRY.
and i wanna cycle too :)
oh wait.
i don't wanna cycle on the roads
with lots of cars.
scaryyyy.
or i'll go running.
maybe with denise if she's free?
yeahh :D
